I’ve just got back from watching The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Wow, that is one seriously long film! At 2 hours and 22 minutes, it’s a good 1 hour and 22 minutes too long…
I guess there are two sides to this film:
- Action Scenes: During the action this films it is brilliant. Really over the top stuff. Bright, flashy and really cool.
- Everything Else : I don’t give a crap about character development in an action film. This re-imagining of the franchise is turning out to be even more whiny than the Toby Maguire version.
The film really could have been edited down massively and I would have come out agreeing with the film title. As it was, it’s “The Amazingly Long and Whiny Spider-Man Too!”
Cheers
Tim…

Most definitely!
One thing that Hollywood producers need to consider for this type of movie is a gizmo that gives off a small noise or electrical jolt every time the action starts: I need to be woken from the induced sleep…
If your cinema doesn’t block the signal, you can always play with your phone to fill the gaps between the good stuff… 🙂
