EM cloud control 12c negative datafile used space

Postby sas » Tue Jun 11, 2013 8:14 am

Hi Tim,

I have 11.2.0.3 database. Datafiles are stored in ASM (created on SAN Luns with external redundancy) and I have EM cloud control 12.1.0.2 for monitoring and managment.
I have noticed that after I have added new datafile to tablespace from EM, the Used space for all the datafiles in this tablespace have negative values.
The Allocated Size, Space Used, Allocated Space Used(%) and Allocated Free Space in EM Tablespaces tab are shown correctly, but when i click on the tablespace to see datafiles all the files have negative values in Used(MB) column.
Is this some kind of bug or I have made something wrong when I have added the datafile?

Best Regards

Hi.

That sounds like a bug. I can't say I've seen that before. What do you get when you look at the sizing manually. May be run this script and see what it gives.

Hi Tim

here is the result for that particular tablespace:
Code: Select all
TABLESPACE_NAME                   SIZE_MB    FREE_MB MAX_SIZE_MB MAX_FREE_MB    FREE_PCT USED_PCT
------------------------------ ---------- ---------- ----------- -----------  ---------- -----------
SYSAUX                               1710        122       65535       63947          97  ----------
SYSTEM                               3600          4       65535       61939          94  X---------
UBREXPO_DATA                       327675      68306      327675       68306          20  XXXXXXXX--

And some screenshots from EM:

Hi.

It looks kinda familiar, but I don't see it on our databases using 12c. I asked one of my colleagues and he remembers seeing a bug in 11g Grid Control that caused this. Perhaps that has been reintroduced in 12c?

I think you should log is as a bug on M.O.S. and see what they say.

Does it do the same thing will all monitored databases, or just specific ones?

If you restart Cloud Control, does it still report the incorrect figure?

Cheers

Hi.

Thank you for the advice, I will open request in oracle support.
As I have installed EM 12c recently, I haven't add all the databases yet.
After restart of cloud control the readings are the same - negative values for the datafiles.

Best regards
