I have no idea what the job market in your area is like, or the number of jobs you can expect to find for a person with no experience. In the UK, it is very difficult to gat a job as a DBA or system administrator without at least 3 years of real experience!
A DBA is not a programmer, but experience as a programmer can be useful. I started work as a programmer, then moved into DBA work. A DBA looks after the database infrastructure, making sure it is installed and configured properly, so the developers can do their job. You can see my thoughts on the quickest way to becoming a DBA here:http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/mis ... or-dba.php
Regarding AIX, once again, I have no idea what the job situation is for AIX system administrators in your country. Personally, if I were looking to become a system administrator, I would do the Red Hat Enterprise Linux certification. RHEL is very popular these days. You can read about the content of the two exams here:http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/lin ... a_and_rhce
System administrator and database administrator (DBA) are very different jobs!
