Postby Guest » Mon Nov 01, 2004 6:09 pm

Hi Tim:

Does the case matter for the value of cursor_sharing in init.ora?

similar V.S. SIMILAR

Thanks

RE:Initialization parameter: Cursor_sharing

Hi.

No. I can't think of a single parameter that is case sensitive, although there may be one somewhere.

In my experience I've found if very difficult to notice the difference between cursor_sharing being set to EXACT and SIMILAR. The only time I can really see it's doing something is when it's set to FORCE. That said, I've not spent lots of time comparing them so I probably just missed seeing the wood for the trees :)

Cheers
