Regarding the question, I'm not actually sure why the shared disk check fails. I don't know what exactly the test involves. Don't let that put you off though. It does not affect the way the RAC works, so it is totally fine to carry on.
As for ways to get round this. I suspect any of the following will work:
- Use something like OpenFiler to create iSCSI targets, then use the Linux RAC nodes as iSCSI initiators.
- Use a third node as an iSCSI target, then use the Linux RAC nodes as iSCSI initiators. http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/lin ... iators.php
- Use a third node as an NFS server, then use NFS to present the shared disks. With this method you can choose to use ASM or not.
