Hi.

When CRS starts up, not all processes are working instantly, so you will often get "not working" style messages while some processes are waiting for others to start. What you get is a list of, "Cluster Ready Services on the local node is not running Messaging error" messages, then a "Get OCR context succeeded" message. This is expected behaviour.

You have posted lots of information, but I'm not sure what the actual question is...

Cheers

Code: Select all

grid@RAC01:~> crsctl check evm
Parse error:
  'evm' is an invalid argument

Brief usage:
  crsctl check crs
Check status of OHAS and CRS stack

  crsctl check cluster [[-all]|[-n <server>[...]]]
     Check status of CRS stack

  crsctl check ctss
Check status of Cluster Time Synchronization Services

  crsctl check resource {<resName> [...]|-w <filter>} [-n <server>] [-k <cid>] [-d <did>]
     Check status of resource(s)

  crsctl check css
Check status of Cluster Synchronization Services

For complete usage, use:
    crsctl [-h | --help]
For detailed help on each command and object and its options use:
crsctl <command> <object> -h  For example, crsctl relocate resource -h

the problem here is why is it complaining that syntax is wrong. After reinstallatio right, when I run the root.sh am I supposed to overwrite all the environments?

In that case I've to stop the clusterware on all nodes before I run the /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/root.sh, right?

thanks

Hi.

So the actual question is nothing to do with all the other stuff you posted... Can you see why I was confused? You didn't actually include anything to do with the actual question in the body of the post... :)

Your questions are so random, with no direction. Far better if you have concise questions, like:

1) I am using "crsctl check evm" but it is giving me this error:

Code: Select all

grid@RAC01:~> crsctl check evm
Parse error:
  'evm' is an invalid argument

2) After a re-installation, do I need to run the root.sh again? If so, do I have to stop clusterware on all nodes first?

If is now clear you have two distinct questions, and you've provided the necessary information, without including a dump of everything on your system...

To answer your questions...

1) That syntax should be OK in 11.2. You could try the deprecated command (crsctl check evmd) to see what happens. If that doesn't work, I think this is an Oracle Support issue.

2) Any installation requires the root.sh to be run. You will certainly need the clusterware processes turned off to do this, but you should only need to do this for the current node, not every node in the cluster, unless every node has been reinstalled also...

Cheers
