how to enable OCR Automatic backup

Hi Tim,

I just made a 11g R2 (11.2.0.3) RAC setup at my home. Once I complete the installation i just checked OCR backup mode but got below error.

[oracle@rac1 oracle]$ ocrconfig -showbackup auto
PROT-24: Auto backups for the Oracle Cluster Registry are not available
[oracle@rac1 oracle]$
[oracle@rac1 oracle]$
[oracle@rac1 oracle]$ ocrconfig -showbackup
PROT-24: Auto backups for the Oracle Cluster Registry are not available
PROT-25: Manual backups for the Oracle Cluster Registry are not available


I am aware that manual backups are not available with 11 R2, but I am not sure why automatic backup of OCR is not enabled by default!

Please explain how to enable the automatic backups for OCR.

Hi.

The backups happen every 4 hours of continuous use. You've only just installed the cluster so no automatic backups have kicked in.

The message is not saying automatic backups are not possible. It's saying there are none available, as in none have been done yet.
