Hi,

Based on my understading, CSS process is resposible for ASM instance . so In order to start ASM, CSSD process must be UP . If evmd process goes down, CRSD process must be up in order to bring EVMD up and other resources such as listener, SCAN Listener, Database, ovmd, e.t.c

what are the dependency between all RAC 11GR2 Background processes?

If one of the cluster process goes down, What are the dependency of that process on other processes ( lower level to Higher).?

Hi.

CSS is the Cluster Synchronization Service. It is actually a fundamental part of the clusterware. The fact ASM relies on some parts of the clusterware does not directly make CSS responsible for ASM, if you know what I mean. The CSS stuff is used to auto start the ASM instance.
