oracle rac install 11_2 using nfs

Postby rjngh2005 » Tue Sep 10, 2013 8:50 am

Hi Tim

I have completed the install of the clusterware
at the end of this section I ran the following commands

crsctl check cluster
CRS-4537: Cluster Ready Services is online
CRS-4529: Cluster Synchronization Services is online
CRS-4533: Event Manager is online

./crsctl check has
CRS-4638: Oracle High Availability Services is online
[oracle@ol5-112-rac1 bin]$ ./crsctl check cluster -all
**************************************************************
ol5-112-rac1:
CRS-4535: Cannot communicate with Cluster Ready Services
CRS-4529: Cluster Synchronization Services is online
CRS-4533: Event Manager is online
**************************************************************
ol5-112-rac2:
CRS-4537: Cluster Ready Services is online
CRS-4529: Cluster Synchronization Services is online
CRS-4533: Event Manager is online
**************************************************************

Now the question

since I have two nodes
a) ol5-112-rac1.localdomain which is also the nas server and
b) ol5-112-rac2.localdomain

At this stage I want to reboot both machines
I feel I should shutdown both machines completely and then
start

a) ol5-112-rac1.localdomain which is also the nas server and next
b) ol5-112-rac2.localdomain

in the above order ...
Is that correct...?

do I have to do anything else to get the cluster started or will the cluster come online automatically after reboot ?

Hi.

Shutdown node 2 first, then node 1.
Startup node 1 first, then node 2.

If the cluster is configured correctly it should start up automatically, but is can take a few minutes to start.

Cheers
