Postby mkhan » Sun Jan 26, 2014 1:45 pm

Hi Tim,

First of all ... a BIG Thank You for this amazing site and outstanding help, assistance & guidance ... thank you Tim.

I got stuck ... here is the my OS and some configuration too, would like to build a Oracle 11gR2 2 nodes RAC on Oracle Enterprise Linux, you can even direct me to the correct link too, which I'll follow step by step:

Oracle Linux Server release 5.6

Linux rac1.mydomain 2.6.32-100.26.2.el5 #1 SMP Tue Jan 18 20:11:49 EST 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[root@rac1 temp]# rpm -qa | grep oracleasm*
oracleasm-support-2.1.4-1.el5
oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5xen-2.0.5-1.el5
oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5debug-2.0.5-1.el5
oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5-2.0.5-1.el5
[root@rac1 temp]#

Have already configured openfiler too, but my OS can't see it, or better to say, I don't know, how to ... basically did so many steps that totally lost, what to do next, please assist here or either can direct me to some link or anything, have been trying for quite some days ... :-(

Thanks Tim

Hi.

Do you really mean Oracle Linux 5.6? Why have you not patched it up to 5.9, or whatever the latest spin is? More importantly, why are you not using Oracle Linux 6.x?

The only 11.2 guides I've got for Oracle Linux 5 are:

http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g ... ualbox.php
http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g ... ng-nfs.php

One has the shared storage faked using Oracle VirtualBox. The other uses NFS. Neither use OpenFiler. I've got no experience of that product, so I can't really help there.

Cheers

Tim...
