Hi.

Sorry. No idea then. I've never come across this issue, so I don't really know what to say. If this were a production installation I would suggest raising an SR with Oracle support... The other option is getting the latest release (11.2.0.4) from My Oracle Support if you have a CSI. That may work a bit different...

Cheers

Hi.

Like I said, I've never experienced it, so I can't really comment.

If you choose to try 11.2.0.4, it is not an upgrade really. It is a full installation, so I would suggest starting from scratch...

Cheers

Hi.

I'm not sure how many times I can say this, but I've not experienced this issue before, so I can't comment on how to fix it... That's 3 times I've said it now... :)

Hi Tim,

Today when i am trying to configure Oracle RAC with NFS. I am getting the same error. I did not get such error when i successfully completed configuration of rac using nfs.

One thing more when i try to run ./runInstaller as oracle user. I always get permission denied error. Then i need to assigne permssion using chmod 775 to user oracle

Can you please help me out

Or suggest me any option which i implement to sort out the problem.

Thanks in advance

Hi.

OK. Listen to what you have just said...

1) You installed it with no problem before when you used NFS.
2) Now you are installing it again and it is not working using NFS.

What does this say to you? It tells me you have done something different when you installed it with NFS this time. Once you figure out what you did differently, you will probably know why it failed when you did the install using ASM...

I can't stress enough, I have done these installations several times and they work for me. The vast majority of the time when people have problems it's because they have missed out steps, or misunderstood something that is written in the article.

Regarding your "./runInstaller" issue, the ownership of this must be different to what it was last time, which suggests you have performed some operations as root that should have been as "oracle". At least, that would be my guess.

You've got to follow what the article says!

Cheers

Hi.

Is this a system where both the GI and Database software installed and configured with zero errors, or are you trying to move forward, even though your installation had issues?

As there is no error till now except the one which i mentioned occurred during the dbca and GI and DB are on same node. Now the installation is complete and i drop the db and trying to recreate the db with dbca.

Hi.

Please answer YES/NO to these questions please.

1) Did the GI installation complete with no errors at all?
2) Did the DB software installation complete with no errors at all?

You run your sentences together, making it hard to read and very easy to misinterpret...
Cheers
