Does ETH number matter?

Postby jervic72 » Fri Jun 06, 2014 10:37 pm

I am building 3 new VMware linux servers for Oracle RAC. One has devices at eth5,eth6 .. other one has devices at eth14, eth15. As long as the IP's are set up correctly on each device... does the actual device name matter???

Thanks

Hi.

Clusterware is very picky. You might get away with it, but if I were you I would sort this first.

If the adapter names do not reset properly, check the HWADDR in the "/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules" file.

Cheers
