How to Hide password

Hi Tim,

Whenever i connect any user through sqlplus, password appears like "sqlplus> connect sys/sys@dbname as sysdba"
i want my password should be hidden like "sqlplus> connect sys/********@dbname as sysdba".

which parameter i should set to hide my password for security reason.

Please help..

Hi.

If you are manually logging in, then don't supply your password and you will be prompted for it. This is not shown.

connect sys@dbname as sysdba


If it is done using a script, then you shouldn't really be connecting remotely like this. You could do this:

You can always use a password store:

If it is on the same box as the DBA, you can use OS authentication.
