I have a full export file from 10.2.0.3 and I want to import to 220.127.116.11. Of course, when I do full import, several system object will fail b/c it can't import from the old version to the new version. questions:
1. can we do full impdp without sys and system? 2. do you have better approach than using using full expdp/impdp for the upgrade and migrate to different platform in one shot? 3. Schemas export would be cleaner; hwoever, we have to precreate all of the users, privs. etc......
Thanks for the response as always. If the database has 500 users then schemas import only take care of the application, but not users. Do you think it's better if I do full import EXCLUDING sys, system, this way it take care the most part and I only have to worry about create the directories manually. Do you think import full excluding sys, system is better option? Is there anything I missed beside recreating the directories?
Well, the first thing I would do is a run through and test it. You will quickly see if anything else is missing. I would expect the majority of things of interest would be in the individual schemas. You will probably want to exclude some of the other standard schemas also.
