FTP PAckage

Hi,

I use the FTP package which is great btw (oracle db 10.2.0.5) but just recently had problems if client has a proxy and wondered if anyone got round this?

Hi.

I assume the problem is with proxy authorization? Sorry. Not faced this myself. I would suggest that using this method should be restricted to without your safe zone. Not a great idea giving direct access to the internet from a database machine anyway... :(

Hi.

Do I want my DB servers to have direct access to the net? No way dude!

If something has to be transferred out of the company network to another site, I would not do it from my DB server. :)

Its more transferring things in.

We transfer fix files for a system we run (which runs on db server as these tend not to be large companies)
