ASMlib for Aix??

Hi Tim,

for this new RAC implementation on AIX, it will be using ASM for data storage. In my past builds on LInux for example,
I normally download and configure ASMlib before I proceed with the implementation. However after searching around, first I do not see a package for ASMLib on AIX and secondly many articles online indicate this is not required, without explaining why.

Do you have any ideas whether ASMLib is required as a pre-requisite for RAC on AIX systems?

Hi.

ASMLib is a Linux only library, so it is not available for any other platform. That's the reason it is not mentioned for any other OSes. Even on Linux it is no necessary.
