sorry for being mr. point out the obvious, but:

GROUP BY a.wait_class;
Thanks for the heads-up. I've corrected it now. Don't ever be feel ebarressed about helping, even if it is something simple like this. It's much appreciated.

trcsess output=client.trc client_id=my_id db10g_ora_198.trc db10g_ora_206.trc
the parameter should be 'clientid' not 'client_id'
Thank you for the article.
Philippe said...Hi Tim,
Is all this available on standard one without the payable options?
I think everything in the "Automatic Performance Diagnostic and Tuning Features" section is part of the Diagnostics and Tuning pack which is an Enterprise Edition option.
The rest is available in Standard Edition... I think.

thank you for year great articles, very impressive work! I have a question: I cannot find the view V$SYSTEM_WAIT_HISTORY in the oracle manuals, is this a typing error ?
Sorry, it was a typo. It should have been V$SESSION_WAIT_HISTORY. I've corrected the typo now. Thanks for the heads-up.
