Hi all,
I have to add following information.
Before you start removing Oracle software on Windows OS, you ought to stop all oracle services.

Best regards,
Stanislav

app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\BIN\oci.dll & msvcr71.dll are not getting deleted

Very usefull !!
It would be better to delete also all the classpath variables related to oracle and oracle_home if it is set.

Thanks Tim. The steps are very useful and easy to catch for any TECH guys. The most important thing is that IT WORKED SMOOTHLY on windows7

As stated several times above. OracleHome\Product...\oci.dll is being used by what looks like the following 2 services:
OracleOraDB11g_home1ClrAgent
OracleMTSRecoveryService
All reference to Oracle has been removed from registry and reboot do not clear these services from task manager. This is Windows 7

Tim... said...

Hi.

The process works for me. I suggest you check the services have been deleted from the registry.

Also, try renameing the dll, then reboot. Often, if the delete won't work, the rename will. This will prevent anything from trying to use it after reboot.

Cheers

You can also detach an Oracle home from the inventory. I've had to do this on my EM agent11g home after it wouldn't deinstall via normal methods. Also applies to db homes.

cd $ORACLE_HOME/oui/bin
./runInstaller -silent -detachHome ORACLE_HOME="/u04/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/agent11g" ORACLE_HOME_NAME="agent11g1"

Don't forget to remove any environment variable references, otherwise any subsequent re-install may fail (because they still refer to folder paths that don't exist).

On Windows also remove C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Oracle*

Richard:

Awesome. I've added that in. Thanks for pointing it out. :)

Hi.

If you deleted the items using Windows Explorer or a GUI on UNIX/Linux, the deleted items may be in the recycle bin. Empty it.

If that doesn't help, reboot.
