Hi Tim,

Very nice article on the Scheduler. I have been trying to get the file watcher scheduler going; but it doesn't work for me. I followed your example all the way through, used even SYS schema; but the job never runs.

RedHat Advanced Server 5.

Did you use any tricks that is not documented here? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi.

No tricks. I just did what I listed here and it worked for me.

Thaks Tim. I utlimately resolved it. The file watcher reolies on some arcane object file in the Linux Os which is required but is not mentioned. I did a complete installation of Linux, with all the options (developers, web, etc.). Installed Oracle, etc. and it worked.

Hi Tim,
Thanks for posting this. I've been working for a week now with Oracle Support and have been unable to get your example to work. Could you tell me what platform you are on and what version of Oracle RDBMS you are using. I'm on Solaris SPARC and 11.2.0.2. Thanks.
Ed

Hi.

I wrote the article against 11.2.0.1 on Oracle Linux 5.x x86_64.

You don't say which bit you are having problems with. If you have any specific issues feel free to post on my forum and I'll try and take a look.

Cheers

Hi Tim.

Can't get the email notifications to work, seems I need to do this (per Oracle docs), but I'm not sure how:

To consume job state events, your application must subscribe to the Scheduler event queue SYS.SCHEDULER$_EVENT_QUEUE.

Maybe I missed it here, but can you post an example of doing the above?

Hi.

The example in the article worked for me. If you have a specific question, please ask it in the forum, not in these comments.
