ferhat said... hi,great post. Any hope for oracleasm package on fc14. I've tried to implement raw devices with losetup but raw command is not working on fc14. ferhat.sengonul@gmail.com |
Tim... said... Hi.Raw devices is deprecated on newer versions of Linux. You should use Block Devices. You can see how to setup block devices here: http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/OracleDB11gR1RACInstallationOnOEL5UsingVMwareServer2.php#create_shared_disks Cheers Tim... |
Gordon said... Hi and thanks for updating your guide. However I still have a linking problem in fedora, which still needs to be solved manually. When you get the linking error, vi /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/sysman/lib/ins_emagent.mk and add -lnnz11 (nnz one one) to the failing build $(SYSMANBIN)emdctl: $(MK_EMAGENT_NMECTL) -lnnz11 Additionally I also tried 11.2.0.2, and this apparently needs /etc/sysctl.conf of: kernel.shmmax = 4294967295 Hope thats useful to people.
