Happy birthday to me!

Yes, it’s that time of year again. Another year older and supposedly another year wiser.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I seem to have missed a few years between 18 and 36. Where did they go and what was I doing? It’s all a blur.

I was sure that Larry was going to release Oracle 10g Release 2 in time for my birthday!

I’m off to hit the books.

Cheers

  1. indeed, wait till the big “40” πŸ™‚

I’m waiting for 42 as I’m sure that all shall be revealed to me at that age. It is The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything after all.

Happy 30th birthday (in base 12 of course)

  2. Cheers dude!

I did some serious eating this weekend. I can’t remember the last time I felt so full for such a long time. If I carried on like that I don’t think I’d make it to 37 πŸ™‚

    Cheers

Had chicken tikka masala with roti’s?!

I didn’t have chicken tikka masala (I’m a veggie), but I did have curry on Saturday night (Sunday morning really). I had a vegetable balti and a plain naan after a night out and it was fantastic.

For those of you who don’t know, a balti is a mild curry served in a metal bowl. I believe it was invented in the midlands (UK), so it’s not in any way a traditional Indian dish, unless you’re from my neck of the woods πŸ™‚

Excuse my ignorance, but what’s the difference between a roti and a naan bread? They sound kinda similar from a quick check on the net. I guess I’ll try one out next time…

    Cheers

  4. Tim,

Though both are prepared using same ingredients, a roti is harder/smaller when compared with a naan, which is soft and bigger(server as head and tail pieces).

You can have “butter roti”. The butter topping makes the roti soft.

    Both are tandoor items anyway.

And excuse me for “chicken tikka masala”, was not aware you are veggie!

Thanks for the info. Rotis are definitely on my list for next time.

As for the veggie thing, I’d only be offended if you tried to make me eat it πŸ™‚ I think the last time I ate anything like meat or fish was about 21 years ago. Even before that I ate very little. It’s not a moral stance, I just don’t like the taste or texture of it.

    Each to their own πŸ™‚

    Cheers

  6. Happy birthday dude!

Maybe it’s the Alberta in me, but I couldn’t imagine a vegetarian diet. It’s hard enough to imagine chicken tikka masala.

    Prime rib for me please!

  7. And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I’d something more to say

Happy day. 37 and still kickin’ myself…

  8. Tim, don’t listen to Jeff – it’s not that bad. Tom was right indeed, wait till the big “40” that’s what I’m doing, except that I’ve counting in hex for a long time now πŸ™‚

Good time of year for birthdays – hope you had a good one.

  9. Balti in Birmingham – where better or cheaper?

  10. Glad I’ve pushed some people your way. Tom Kyte gave you the nod so I guess you’ve got him to thank for that. πŸ™‚
