Swimming Etiquette…

During lane swimming, when using a lane marked as clockwise, do you:

  1. Float on your back in the middle of the lane.
  2. Walk a bit, swim a bit, then walk a bit more.
  3. Swim anti-clockwise.
  4. Swim up and down the middle of the lane, making it impossible for others to overtake.
  5. Swim diagonally.
  6. Stop and rest part way through the length.
  7. All of the above.

Judging by the actions of one woman today, number (7) seems to be the correct answer! 🙂

Cheers

  1. How right you are and what about the Ralgex Brigade! english swimmers still think the pool is a bath and do not shower before swimming. If you lane swim at around 0900hrs this is the time the seniors swim and they have spent allnight smearing themselves with potions and lotions to ease the arthritus then they do not shower and if you swim in the lane behind them you get mouthfulls of disgusting BO, hairspray, deep heat, etc etc

  2. Hi.

I understand your frustration completely, but I have to admit your comment made me laugh. 🙂

All the pool have signs saying shower before use, but I guess some people have very little consideration for others.

    Cheers
