I finally got round to watching V for Vendetta last night. I didn’t think it would appeal to me, hence the delay in watching it, but I really liked it. There were a few annoying moments where Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving had less than adequate English accents, but on the whole they did a great job. Natalie Portman is very easy on the eye, regardless of her hair style. Infact, I think she looks better with it shaved off!
I might be going to see Children of Men tonight, but I’m not sure yet.

What a coincidence, I watched it (on pay-per-view) too. I also liked it. I watched part of the info about the movie, it said V’s outfit was “really sweaty” and all of his dialogue was dubbed – and he was hired 1 week before filming began. They used 17 different fiberglass masks with slightly different finishes and with different lighting to elicit almost-subliminal expression changes. One of the biggest challenges of the movie was to get the rights to all of the artwork shown, then reproduce the artwork for filming in a reasonable time.
Interesting stuff. I think the various masks were wasted on me, but then if it was a subliminal effect I wouldn’t know about it 🙂
