The downloads and changelog are in the usual places.
I’ve done an installation on my laptop (macOS Sierra) and it worked fine. I probably won’t get to do it on Windows and Oracle Linux hosts until the weekend.

Hopefully they have improved the io which from my experience was very slow (over a day to install a product).

I think you have a problem. I use it all the time. I install RAC and ODI, OBIEE, OBIA on it. It works fine and takes minutes, not days. If you are trying to use more resources than are available on your PC you are going to have a bad time, but if you are using a subset of the resources on your PC it’s fine.
