Oracle related rants (and lots of off-topic stuff)…
I completely missing the fact that MobaXterm 7.7 was released about a month ago. There’s probably a new version just around the corner now. 🙂
The downloads and changelog are available here.
Happy upgrading!

With all that OpenWorld stuff going on I managed to miss the really big news. MobaXterm 7.3 was released. 🙂
This version includes a fix to Bash for the “shellshock” bug.
Downloads and changelog in the usual places.

While I was away on that F5 Load Balancer I noticed MobaXterm 7.2 is now available.
I made use of that and PortableApps.com to get a familiar environment set up… 🙂

If you are using a Windows desktop, you need MobaXterm in your life! Version 7.1 has recently been released…
I know you think you can’t live without Putty, Cygwin and/or Xming, but you really can. Give MobaXterm a go and I would be extremely surprised if you ever go back to that rag-tag bunch of apps…

PS. Includes “Updated OpenSSL library to 1.0.1g (for “Heartbleed Bug” correction)”
I’ve sung the praises of MobaXterm many times. Just a quick note to say version 6.6 came out a few days ago. The download and change log are here.
If you are using a desktop PC running windows, but spend your life connecting UNIX and Linux servers, like most DBAs and sys admins, you really need this in your life! It’s so much better than anything I’ve ever used before. Even those really expensive desktop X emulators (you know who you are)! What’s more, it’s a self contained .exe, so no need for installation. Just unzip and go. Perfect on a memory stick!

Thanks to Norman Dunbar for pointing out that MobaXterm 6.3 has been released. You can find the download and changelog in the usual place.
I’ll be interested to see how the performance improvements to SFTP work out. I’ve seen some issues with this during transfers of large files before. The built in NFS and VNC servers sound interesting too. I can think of one situation where the NFS server would come in really handy. 🙂
Great stuff!

I was filling a new memory stick with useful stuff for work, including the latest PortableApps, and noticed MobaXTerm Version 6.0 has been released.
It’s a standalone exe, so it runs just fine from a memory stick. 🙂
