Data Transfer from 10g to 11g

Postby aunshakeel » Wed Sep 26, 2012 1:04 pm

hi all,
I am suppose to take an expdp export from 10gRAC servers and import it to 11gRAC servers.
Do i have to shut the listeners before taking export and taking import ont he two servers.
Will there be any issues if i perform this task without shutting the listeners down.
if i do shutdown the listeners will it affect the import and export.

Thank you

No. You don't need to shut down the listeners.

You should export from 10g using the 10g version of expdp (on the 10g servers) and import the dump file into 11g using the 11g version of impdp (on the server). Provided you do that it will work fine.
