adding datafile size 32G on oracle11g

Postby shrinika » Thu Apr 03, 2014 3:38 pm

We are using oracle database version.

Our OS version is
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.3 (Tikanga)

Our database data file limit is 1024. The database is very fast growing database and we currently adding 16G datafile for table space.

With our current growth rate, we might reach the max threshold data file limit. so i am planning to start add 32G datafile for tablespace.

would you see any concern on adding 32G file?

My unix admin has no concern. Unix admin created 32G test file and it worked.

Just checking with you if you have any difference experience on this.

I've never encountered a problem doing this. I always let them grow to 32G. :)
