I wonder if you can help.
I have a large dataset which requires exporting over a number of days. I deally I would like to start the export off
running with 8-12 parall workers and then while the same export is executing, drop this down to 1-2 during the
week, when users are using other databases on the same server..
I read someone that this is feasible, but wondered if you could clarify
Can't say I've ever tried, but it supposedly possible.
When you are running your DP job, you CTRL+C on it to switch to the command mode. You should then be able to use "PARALLEL 2" to switch the DOP. I'm assuming it finishes the current file before it reduces the DOP.
Like I said, not tried this myself, so I can't report on it. I suggest you give it a go first.
