Which srvctl to use?

Postby dba-cornhusker » Thu May 01, 2014 12:58 am

First, thanks for all of the great articles Tim, they have truly helped!

We have a 2 node RAC cluster on Oracle Linux 5 x86-64.
We have just upgrade our grid control from to
We want to register a oracle database that is still with the clusterware
With our environment set for the new clusterware, we issue commad
srvctl add database -d CRP -o /u01/app/crp/dbhome and get an java error
PRCD-1025 Failed to create database CRP.

One question came up, should we be using the srvctl out of the rdbms ORACLE_HOME for
for adding this database to clusterware or should we use the new srvctl from CRS Home?

Thanks Kevin

Definitely the newest home.

The error will normally be followed by another error that tells you why it failed...
