TSHSQL - PL/SQL Editor and SQL Query Tool
I stopped development of this IDE when Oracle released Raptor, which later became SQL Developer, so this is a dead product. If you want a free Java-based IDE you should use SQL Developer.
TSHSQL is a Java based PL/SQL editor and SQL query tool which works on any OS that supports a Java 1.4 JRE (and an Oracle client installation for full OCI support). It is designed to take advantage of Oracle 9i and 10g features but most functionality is compliant with Oracle8i also.

Installation
- Download and install Java JRE 1.4.
- Download the TSHSQL-V112.zip file and unzip its contents to a directory of your choice.
- Copy the following Oracle supplied files to the same directory as the TSHSQL jar files:
$ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/classes12.jar
$ORACLE_HOME/lib/xmlparserv2.jar
If you cannot find these files download the OracleSupportFiles.zip file and unzip its contents to the same directory as the TSHSQL jar files. - Amend the TSHSQL.conf file specifying:
The version of the Oracle JDBC driver you wish to use. The version you use depends on the version of the Oracle client software you have loaded on your machine. For best results use the appropriate "oci" option:
oci8 - Oracle8i client using classes12.jar copied from client installation.
oci - Oracle 9i or 10g client using classes12.jar copied from client installation or downloaded support files for version 9.2.0.
thin - No Oracle client loaded. This option is slower and does not support all features.
The owner and name of the plan table used to create execution plans.
The ORACLE_HOME on the client machine if present. Some features will not work correctly without this setting.
Windows users can specify the SQL*Plus executable name which can vary depending on the version (sqlplusw.exe). - Amend the contents of the startup files as appropriate, making sure the path to the JRE is correct. The NT/2000 file (StartTSHSQL.bat) may no be required if the JRE is properly registered as the application can be started by double-clicking on the TSHSQL.jar file. The UNIX/Linux file (StartTSHSQL) also needs some Oracle paths defined if the "oci" or "oci8" driver is used.
- Execute the start file and begin using TSHSQL.
