Comments for Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1) Installation On Fedora 19 (F19)

Hi and thanks for the article.

I'm trying to install Oracle 12c on Redhat 7 and it's failing with error "invoking target 'install' $ORACLE_HOME/ct/lib/ins_ct.mk".

I followed the instructions of editing the env_ct.mk file at line 154, but when I click Retry, it still returns the same error.

Is there any update on this?

Hi.

Why don't you follow the installation guide for RHEL7/OL7.

https://oracle-base.com/articles/12c/oracle-db-12cr1-installation-on-oracle-linux-7.php

It's a bit silly using an install guide for a different OS than the one you are using!

Cheers

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your reply.

This guide actually did help resolve the errors. Nothing else I found was much of help.

I was just missing a devel library. Once that was installed, it went through to complete successfully.

Thanks.

If modifications to env_ctx.mk do not work and you still get the error, then you need to install 32 and 64 bit zlib and zlib-devel.
