Comments for XMLTABLE : Convert XML Data into Rows and Columns using SQL

Koen Lostrie said...

Hello Tim, I think there is a typo in the last script
FROM XMLTABLE('/employees/employee'
PASSING XMLTYPE(:xml)
should be
FROM XMLTABLE('/employees/employee'
PASSING XMLTYPE(l_xml)

Hi.

Whoops. Fixed it. I guess I was playing around with a SQL*Plus variable and forgot to switch it back. :)

Cheers

Hi Tim,
what is the usage of variable l_xmltype, in the code snippet for calling OBIEE web service?
How i can deal with XMLTYPE data type ?

Regards
Hany

Hi.

That variable wasn't being used. I've removed it.

I've made some changes to that section, including showing how an XMLTYPE could be used.

Hi Tim, what does the emp table contain? can you display the table?

Tim... said...

Hi.

Added a setup section at the start. Back in the day everyone had the SCOTT schema, so everyone knew EMP and DEPT. These days it's not there by default, so I guess it's not so obvious.
