Comments for Multitenant : Pluggable Database (PDB) Names

Mark Liu said...

I have this issue, one question I have is why the listener allows registering an existing service? what's the use if there will be random connections/errors, why it doesn't just error out.
I don't know if I'm missing out something, but is there a use of having 1 server servicing 2 different instances, is it "RAC" perhaps?

Thanks

Hi.

The short answer it I don't know. I'm wondering if it somehow relates to the way the listener handles RAC nodes, and this is an unexpected consequence.

Cheers
