Why the stern warning against using a PDB for the OMR?

Tim... said...

Hi.

My bad. Thanks for the correction. I guess the template being non-CDB made me believe the old 12c situation was still in place. Corrected here and in the related blog post!

Cheers

The template has never been updated. I've run into this a few times and have just given up on the template.

The mistake about the PDB support for the OMR is totally understandable since it was previously not certified, then it was, then it was not, then it was again.

How you feel when you first time saw 13c screen and I'm going to try tomorrow

Tim... said...

Hi.

It's very sparse and clean, but that's no bad thing. After a few weeks I probably won't remember how it used to look. :)

Hi Tim, thanks for all your articles, they are a very valuable source of information to me, your site is the first I go to before I google on Oracle info :-)
Anyway, a minor remark: shouldn't your link for downloading DB 12.1 refer to the download page instead of support.oracle.com? (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html)

Hi.

Blasted copy/paste errors. :) I've corrected that now. Thanks for pointing it out. :)

Hi Tim,
Just question. How long does it takes to install only EM?
I am still waiting. It 54% since two hours. Did you face any problems with stopped/looping installation?

Thanks,
Kiril

Hi.

It totally depends on the size of the server/VM you are using. The last time I installed it at home I did two simultaneously (one installation on ol6 and one on ol7) on a single physical server. Each had 10G memory. The pair completed in about 2 hours, including the DB installation. With less memory or worse hardware it is going to be slower...

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your articles. They are concise and very helpful.
Just a minor correction, the link to the post installation tasks is pointing to the 12c version, and I saw that you already have the OEM 13c version (https://oracle-base.com/articles/13c/cloud-control-13c-post-installation-setup-tasks)

Best regards
Ricardo

Hi.

Thanks for pointing that out. I've fixed the link now. :)

I cannot find the file em13100_linux64.bin, where is it suppose to be and how did it get there?

Tim... said...

Hi.

The first part of the article is downloading the software. The bin file is the EM13c software. Can't install it if you've not downloaded it. :)

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your articles. They are very helpful.
How do I enable Auto refresh the default on Databases Page? Apparently it is disabled by default !

Best regards.
Hamid

Tim... said...

Hi.

There is a refresh button and auto-refresh drop-down on the top-right of most screens. Flick the drop-down to the refresh time limit you want.

Thanks for all the hard work you do! You are my 'GOTO' for many of my Oracle questions.

I noticed that the link for EM CC 13.1.0.0 actually points to the 13.2.0.0 release.

Didn't notice until I started the install and got an unhappy message stating that EM 13.2.0.0 doesn't like my DB Template meant for 13.1.0

Totally my bad for not checking the detail... but wanted to let you know.

Tim... said...

Hi.

The page includes previous releases further down the page, so this is actually to right place on OTN to get the software. :)

Hey there thank you very much for your article. I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction; where to can I get more information about proxies? Most Oracle docs talk about setting it up from the OMS but fail to mention if there is an Oracle specific proxy server.

Tim... said...

Hi.

We used to do this.

https://oracle-base.com/articles/misc/apache-reverse-proxy-configuration

We've since moved to using our load balancers (F5 Big IP) as our proxies, so no need for separate kit.

Hello all, I have tried installing the oem 13c but having failed message such as :to check whether oracle software database been installed is certified.
I have chosen ignore and still cannot cross.
How do I get a solution of the issue?

Thank you

Tim... said...

Hi.

Why are you installing 13cR1 when 13cR3 is out? I suggest you follow that guide.
