line ## dnf groupinstall -y "GNOME Desktop" gives error cannot find GNOME Desktop, instead try dnf install @gnome-desktop

Hi.

Agreed. I amended the article to "dnf groupinstall GNOME", which is similar to your example.

Cheers

Hi, Tim.

ORA-27301: OS failure message: No such file or directory

Hi.

Are your binaries installed on a ZFS file system? If so, then maybe they shouldn't be. I've done these installations on XFS and ext4 and not had any problems.

I assume you don't have any problems on a supported OS like Oracle Linux.

Hi!
I do appreciate You for answer.
You are right... It's zfs of virtual container.
I've been trying to install 18c under ProxMox 5 and faling from problem to problem.
I've failed to get a correct work with Oracle Linux because of some strange KMV virtual machine problem (CPU stuck, huge swap of host)
Now i'm trying lxc container with Fedora by Your article and get problem again (with zfs).

Hi.

Even if you get it to work on Fedora, it's not a supported OS, so you wouldn't be able to use it for something real.

Note. Fedora is not a supported OS and KVM is not a supported hypervisor, so you are pretty screwed with both those choices.

Cheers

Tim, do You have experience or al least opinion about 18c under Debian 9?

Tim... said...

Hi.

Pointless. It's not supported. :)
