Comments for Oracle Linux 8 (OL8) Installation

Muchas gracias por el tutorial, sería ideal que se pueda realizar un instructivo de la manera correcta de particionar el disco, como también cuales son los software minino que se debe de instalar, muchas gracias.

Hi.

I typically use the default boot and swap, then leave everything else under "/". I'm not a fan of separate partitions. The system disk is only used for system stuff, so I don't see the point of partitioning it further. Everything else, like software and data go on different disks.

And after that I shall be able to install Oracle express 19c and make it working ?

Hi.

There is no 19c express edition. The latest one is currently 18c, and it is only rated for OL6 & OL7. I'm sure you can get it to install on OL8, but I've never tried it.

There will be a 12c Express Edition coming in the next few months.

Hi.

Yep. Typo. :) "12" and "21" are so easy to mistype. :)
