The CURSOR_SHARING parameter is a quick fix when you are not able to do the job properly. It is not a solution in itself and it is certainly not more efficient thann using bind variables in the first place. You should only use this parameter if you can't go back and fix bad code. You should certainly not plan on using CURSOR_SHARING in a new project.
