Comments for APEX_WEB_SERVICE : Consuming SOAP and REST Web Services

For 12c the ACL syntax must be:

begin
DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.APPEND_HOST_ACE(
host => 'hosttoconnect.com',
ace => xs$ace_type(privilege_list => xs$name_list('connect', 'resolve'),
principal_name => 'username to be granted',
principal_type => xs_acl.ptype_db));
end;

Hi.

The 12c syntax is already included in the article. Also, you should attempt to grant the least privileges possible. "connect" provides access via many packages. Maybe overkill.

when you use SOAP returns null .

You know why that happens ??

Hi.

As with the other web service articles, they access a web service running from my website. Since the move of the website, this web service has not been working the same. I believe I've fixed it now, so the sample code should work fine.

Thanks for the article! May I suggest two minor corrections?

In the SOAP section you have a namespace of http://www.ignyte.com/whatsshowing. which is never used.
In the REST section you a comment "Display the whole SOAP document returned."

Hi.

Not sure where I got that SOAP header from. :) I've corrected the typo in the comment.

Cheers
