The return of the voice…

I have a voice again, sort of. It sounds a little like my voice is braking. It’s a quiet and husky and occasionally turns into a squeal then disapears mid sentence. It sounds totally classic if I sing. I keep doing it to amuse myself.

  1. Today my speaking voice is better, but the end of words often falls silent.

If I try to sing it still sounds brilliant. It’s like I’m singing into a fault microphone that sometimes cuts out or whistles.

Although come to think of it, my normal singing voice is not much better anyway πŸ™‚

Ah yes: I’ve got a similar singing voice problem. Except the sound is only slightly more appealing than a cat in season or the dog when I take the food bowl from under its chin…

  3. Your car brakes. Your voice breaks. But when you mentioned squealing, that could have been either.

Glad to hear it’s getting better anyway, even if it’s at the expense of your singing.

  4. Perhaps you have a cold.

I’ve found that my voice for Base singing improves when I have a cold. During my recent cold I could sing strongly on bottom D flat, which I can’t normally reach.

Unfortunately I’m a Barbershop tenor now, and couldn’t produce a falsetto voice at all.
