VirtualBox 5.1.20 has been released!

The downloads and changelog are in the usual places.

The installation on macOS Sierra and Oracle Linux 6 hosts went well and all seems to be working OK there.

I’m not 100% sure about the Windows 7 host though. The installation itself went fine, as did the installation of guest additions on a Linux VM running inside it. After a restart of the VM I attempted to do a yum update and the VM just seems to have died now. I can’t get more than a couple of commands out of it before it becomes unresponsive and has to be restarted. I think I’m going to have to remove and rebuild it. I don’t know if this was something I did, or something weird with VirtualBox.

That’s on my work PC and I’m not at work this week, so I was doing it over TeamViewer. I probably won’t have time to look at this again until next week. I’d be interested to know if anyone else has issues on Windows.

It’s barely a week since 5.1.16 dropped and here we have VirtualBox 5.1.18! 🙂

I’ve done the installation on my Windows 7 desktop at work and Oracle Linux 6 host at home. I’ll do the update of the Mac over the weekend probably.

Update: Worked fine on macOS Sierra also.

VirtualBox 5.1.16 has been released! 🙂

I’ve done the installation on my Windows 7 desktop at work and an Oracle Linux 6 host at home. After my recent catastrophe with my MBP I’m nervous to touch it. 🙂 I’ll update the post once I’m brave enough to do that one.

PS. Just did a 12.2 RAC installation on OL6 using VirtualBox 5.1.16. No errors. 🙂

PPS. It worked on macOS Sierra fine too.

Now that you’ve broken all your New Year’s resolutions, you can console yourself by upgrading to VirtualBox 5.1.14. 🙂

VirtualBox 5.1.8 has burst through the chest of it’s host organism.

Downloads and changelog are in the usual places. It’s a maintenance release, so there are a bunch of bug fixes in there.

I’ve installed it on macOS (Sierra), Windows 7 and Oracle Linux 6 with no problems.SO far no dramas. 🙂

Downloads and changelog are in the usual places. It’s a maintenance release, so there are a bunch of bug fixes in there.

I’ve installed it on my Mac with no problems. It might be a couple of weeks before I do the install on my work PC or my Linux servers.

Update. Just done the upgrade on my Mac and Linux server. Worked fine.

You know a major new release is going to be rapidly followed by a bunch of fixes, so about 9 days after the release of VirtualBox 5.1 we now have VirtualBox 5.1.2.

I have got it running on my Windows 7 desktop and work and it seems fine. I’ll try OSX El Crapitan and Oracle Linux 6 hosts when I get home.
