Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest…

I went to the cinema to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest on Friday. One look at the queue at my local multiplex filled me with dread and I turned round and went home instead. I guess I’ll be posting about this film next week 🙂

Cheers

  1. Just saw it this weekend with the wife and kids. IMHO, not as good as the first, but still entertaining (Johnny Depp – that role was just MADE for him). Also no doubt that there will be a Pirates 3 (I heard they were filming both of them one right after the other, just like LOTR). Hope they lighten it up in 3 – this one was a trifle dark.

  2. I read that Jonny Depp is good friends with Keith Richards (Rolling Stones) and decided to base the part of Jack Sparrow on him. If that’s true then the role was not made for him, he made the role… Or maybe Keith Richards did… You know what I mean 🙂

I love Jonny Depp. He can single handedly make a so-so movie great, like Edward Scissorhands. He always brings a different angle to any film, never settling for easy option.

  3. I think that after seeing the first one, this movie was as good if not better than the first movie. There was more action, more great moments of dialogue, more dramatic tension, more interesting swordplay. All in all it is everything someone would want in a swashbuckling pirate movie.

  4. A trifle too dark Bill? I dunno. But i guess this is not the sort of film that should be too dark. I enjoyed it. Maybe not quite as much as numero uno. Anyway, we have instalment number 3 At World’s End to look forward to.
